My Journey So Far:

I have been making games for a little over 6 years, and while it has mostly been a hobby for me so far my passion for it has led me to keep learning and making projects throughout those years. I have learned on my own through various free online resources such as YouTube tutorials, documentation, forums, etc. as well as a recent internship with the company Nexus Games where I learned a lot about teamwork and working on a long standing project that I didn't create. I truly love making games for others to enjoy so that I can hopefully bring a smile to their day, and a little bit more joy into their life!

Skills:

  • During my internship with Nexus Games I was exposed to working on a project that I did not create and therefore learned a great deal about picking up new languages and tools quickly as well as the flow and inner workings of a long standing project

  • I worked as part of a team during my internship with Nexus Games so I know how to fit well as a part of a larger group

  • 6 years of experience working with the Unity game engine

  • I have worked with the Godot engine, not extensively however it helped me understand how to use software similar to, but different from, Unity

  • 6 years of experience working with the Blender modeling software

  • Experience working with networking and multiplayer games

  • I have utilized several different programs and tools for asset creation and editing and I understand how to pick up new software (audio, images, models, textures, etc.)

  • I have utilized a variety of sources to learn such as Unity (among others) documentation, YouTube tutorials, forum posts, etc. and I understand how to search for solutions to a bug or other development issue

  • I have had play testers try out my games and give feedback that I have implemented, helping me learn how to understand how consumers interact with my games and how to tailor experiences towards the public
